Bachelor of Hotel Management Catering & Technology (BHMCT) is a full time four years under graduate programme designed to cater to the present day industry requirement of qualified and skilled hospitality professionals. Hotel Management programs have gained popularity in the recent few years owing to the rise and growth in the hospitality industry. Hospitality industry is one of the finest industries that calls for the need of qualified, well groomed and niche professionals. School of Hotel Management Catering & Tourism is the top college for hotel management courses in U.P. and here the students undergo an intrinsic learning of hotel operations, management and administration. The college has a robust infrastructure, world class facilities, modern labs and well resourced guest rooms for training and practical purposes Qualified faculties, well designed lesson plans, modern teaching techniques, continuous evaluation and real time assignments ensure comprehensive development of the students.

BHMCT follows a CBCS based curriculum divided in eight semesters. While, Food Production, F & B Service, Hotel Housekeeping and Front Office Operations form the base of the learning pyramid, an adequate emphasis is laid on allied subjects such as Food Science & Nutrition, Hygiene & Sanitation, Hotel Law, Hotel Accountancy, Financial Management, Facility Planning, Human Resource Management, Sales & Marketing, Principles of Marketing and many more. The teachers have well defined lesson plans so as to ensure that the content flows down in a systematic and structured format. Interactive sessions, discussion forums, video demonstration and online research activities are a part of regular teaching methodologies.

During the initial years students are specifically taught fundamental concepts both theoretically and practically. Equal emphasis is laid on the practical sessions to enable students to understand, learn and retain the concepts well. Qualified and experienced teachers guide the students and coach them as per the requirements of the industry. The college conducts remedial classes to reinforce the concepts for weaker children. Assignments and short projects ensure that the students are able to apply their learning practically as well. The college uses modern teaching aids to make the learning effective and efficient for the students. The college follows student centric approach and offers conducive environment for their holistic growth and development.

BHMCT students have to go a compulsory training of six months in a star category hotel. The college arranges the industrial training for all students in reputed hotel chains where the students get to know the industry more closely. Students are trained in the four major departments – Food Production, F & B Service, Housekeeping and Front Office. During the training, the students gain in-depth knowledge about hotel operations and enhance their knowledge and skills to the next level. This training period is like a transition tenure which completely transforms the students’ persona. They learn to become disciplined, punctual, regular and indeed professional.

In the further years, students gain a deep insight about the complex hotel operations with a smooth blend of classroom lectures and practical sessions. Beyond academics, the college organizes webinars, guest lectures and interactive sessions with different industry experts of all levels. The college also arranges for site visits to apprise the students of the latest happenings and culture of the industry. During the tenure, students are exposed to the diversity of the hospitality sector and are equipped with all necessary skills required to be a perfect fit for the industry.

The learning just doesn’t stop here. Developing the right attitude and honing the grooming attributes are also an integral part of the curriculum. The department works in close coordination with the training and development cell of IIMTU for tailor-made training programs specific to the needs of hospitality sector. A hospitality professional is indeed known for his attitude, grooming, communication skills and thus leaves a mark wherever he goes. Our hospitality graduates turn out to be smart and proficient professionals who leave a lasting impression in the industry.

The students get placed in reputed hotel chains across India as Kitchen Executive Trainees, Management Trainees, Flight Steward & Cabin Crew, Cruise Ships (Kitchens & Service), Restaurant Manager, Catering Manager, Event Organizer, Housekeeping Supervisors and Front Office Associates. Besides this, hospitality professionals are in high demand in other sectors such as Aviation, Hospitals , Travel Agencies, BPO, KPO, MNCs etc for various job roles in Reservations, Front Desk, Administration and Business Development.
