Bachelors of Science in Agriculture (Hons.) is a four years full time regular course. Agriculture is the backbone of Indian economy & will continue to remain so for years to come. The advancement of science and technology has redefined the agricultural processes in India.

The syllabus of the course is based on Fifth Dean Committee of ICAR and SAU’s implemented Course Based Credit System (CBCS), considering various aspects of modern agriculture. During the span of the course students are taught various aspects of fundamentals of plant physiology, plant pathology and agricultural economics. Students are also coached on importance of plant biochemistry and concepts & applications of plant biotechnology. They are introduced to water management systems and micro irrigation processes. Use of technology and latest irrigation techniques are taught to students. The curriculum is designed keeping in mind the requisites of modern agriculture industry and includes the Practical Crop Production at the experimental farm for full one semester.

In this ever changing technical environment, there is an increased demand for skilled and qualified professionals in the agricultural field. Upon successful completion of the program students are well prepared to be absorbed by various organizations in public and private sectors such as agriculture institutes, fertilizer industry, sugar & dairy industries, food processing & preservation industries. Students are also capable of taking up teaching roles in colleges and universities.
