Agriculture is the backbone of Indian economy and would remain in the main stay of country’s population for years to come. Almost whole of the country’s human population and animals directly & indirectly depend on the Agriculture for their food & fodder. However, the agriculture scenario is changing fast and the task of keeping pace with population growth is arduous and challenging.

Keeping the real challenges in mind Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Bhai Modi in his first address to the nation stressed upon Soil Health Mission under National Mission for sustainable Agriculture (NMSA) to sustain agricultural production and conserve the natural resources vis- a- vis maintaining eco- friendly environment.

Unique features

  • The degree programme is comprised of VIII semesters (4 years) inclusive of major disciplines of Agriculture.
  • The syllabus of the course is based on fifth Dean Committee of ICAR and SAU’s, considering various aspects of modern agriculture.
  • The syllabus includes the practical crop production (PCP) at the experimental farm & learning by doing, a full semester course of Rural Agricultural Work Experience (RAWE)
  • The courses are designed to introduce economically viable technologies in all component fields of agriculture like Biotechnology, INM, IPM, Dairy Technology & IT.
  • The courses are job oriented as well as enable the students to start Agro based industries through Govt. agencies/ NGO’s.
  • The College of Agriculture is being developed fast to make smart classrooms and well =equipped laboratories. The management has provided an adequate agricultural land for PCP, Herbal Garden, Orchards, Vermi & Farm compost unit as well as Poly Houses.
  • The course curriculum is job based and will provide job opportunities to all degree holders in govt. & private sector.
