Internal Quality Assurance Cell

 

Introduction:

Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) is to develop a system for conscious, consistent and enzymatic improvement in the overall performance of institutions. Thus the prime task of IQAC is to provide quality enhancement based sustainable growth of academic institution.

 

NAAC has mandatory guidelines that every accredited institution should establish an Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) as a post-accreditation quality sustenance measure and IIMT University has taken measure to establish IQAC on the same year of its inception..

IIMTU through its Notification (Ref.No. IIMTU/RO/Circular/IQAC/2017/67) dated 24th March 2017 following the XI Plan guidelines of the University Grants Commission (UGC) for establishment of IQAC and the NAAC guidelines for establishment of IQAC, formed the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) at IIMTU.

Objectives:

  • To develop quality and performance monitoring indicators for the institution and its constituent colleges.
  • To be instrumental in bringing a conscious, consistent and catalytic change in all the 7 criteria as defined by NAAC.
  • To monitor and review the progress made by its constituent colleges/departments and to suggest improvements based on a minutely sketched-out action plan.
  • To promote measures for quality up-gradation through Internationalization and institutionalization.
  • To illuminate the level of clarity and focus in overall institutional functioning towards quality enhancement.
  • To act as a change agent to support and promote quality in every respect.
  • To develop quality system and standards in academic and administrative performance of constituent colleges.

Strategies:

  • Ensuring timely, efficient and progressive performance of academic, administrative and financial tasks
  • Optimization and integration of modern methods of teaching and learning
  • Sharing of research findings and networking with other institutions in India as well as abroad
  • Building an organized methodology of documentation and internal communication

Functions:

  • Documentation of the various programmes / activities leading to quality improvement
  • Acting as a nodal agency of the institution for quality-related activities
  • Development of Quality Culture in the institution
  • Dissemination of information on various quality parameters of higher education
  • Development and application of quality benchmarks/parameters for various academic and administrative activities of the institution

Monitoring Mechanism:

  • Collection of data related to quality benchmarks / parameters for various academic and administrative
  • activities of the institution and its review for feedback and resultant upliftment.
  • The Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) shall be approved by the statutory bodies of IIMTU (such as Syndicate, Governing Council/Board) for the follow up action for necessary quality enhancement measures.
  • Submission of AQAR to NAAC.
