Media is the mirror of society. Now days, we see the society with the powerful eyes of media. As we are living in an era of globalization, we cannot neglect the importance of Journalism and Mass Communication.

Journalism is the fourth pillar of democracy. For national development and social changes there must be a team of good journalists in our society. University meticulously designed its programmes including traditional journalism principles as well as contemporary journalism styles, national and international communication, Advertising and Public Relations, Role of IT and Computer in Media and Ethical Practices etc.

Unique features

  • IIMT University has its own Radio IIMT 90.4, the first Community Radio Station of Meerut. Students of Journalism and Mass Communication get training while their education.
  • Provides formal training in order to prepare the students as a Reporter, News Anchor/ Reader, Editor and other creative aspects in the well equipped studio of the department.
  • Provides Radio Programmes Productions, presentation and broadcasting by students so that they may be prepared well.
  • IIMT Motion Pictures gave a precious opportunity of managing events to the students while organizing talent hunt shows.
  • Regular interaction with stalwarts from Media Industry add horizon of knowledge.
  • Regular visits to the shows like “Aap ki Adalat”, news stations etc. heads to know the actual working Mechanism
 

Future Perspective

Mass Communication is a field in which there are a number of career options in Electronic Media as TV, News channels Reporter, News Anchor/ Reader, Producer, Video Editor, Cameraperson etc. In Radio as Announcer, Radio Jockey, Programme Producer etc., in Print Media, Public relations, Advertising, Digital Media, Content Writer, Editor etc. Flair for teaching can leads to Academic for Journalism students.
